The Company
Cambridge Microbial is at the forefront of applying research into the bacterial cell cycle at Cambridge University. A number of discoveries with commercial potential are being developed in collaboration with industrial partners.
The Company is involved in the development and intellectual property licensing of original proprietary technologies for:
-
Optimising protein expression in the bacterial cell factory. Relevant
technologies include the Quiescent Cell Expression System (Q-Cells)
which provides a radical solution to the problem of sustaining protein
synthesis in the absence of cell division by uncoupling the expression
of recombinant proteins from biomass production.
-
Identifying and evaluating novel cell cycle related antibacterial
drug targets.
Collaborations
Cambridge Microbial is looking to develop further partnerships with
companies interested in commercial protein expression processes, antibacterial
drug targets, and genetic manipulation technology. For further information
